Pura Luhur LEMPUYANG, on the slope of Mount Lempuyang. is one of Bali’s six “axial” temple(sadkahyangan), points of power relating to the cardinal directions. There is considerable variation among Balinese accounts of just which temples these are; and there are also mandalas of three, four, five, and nine axial temples, but Pura LEMPUYANG figure in all of them.
